Chilean Nicolas Ossa is the architect behind SaludAbierta.com, the only health social network in all of Latin America.
The origins of disruption.
The idea was born from the lawyer's observation of the enormous difficulties faced by people with chronic medical conditions every day. Upon identifying an absolute lack and great unmet need for virtual spaces where these people could freely express themselves and find real support, he decided to take the plunge and take action. Thus, convinced that technology is today the most powerful tool to generate positive social changes, he embarked on an ambitious project: to create a new independent social network where people with serious health problems can connect, share experiences, find all kinds of resources and feel part of an active community. In short, something that no traditional social network offers or plans to offer.
- Cutting-edge technology: The network has the most advanced technology for creating social networks.
- Connectivity: It facilitates the connection between people with health limitations.
- Community: It builds an inclusive collective where everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their conditions.
- Empowerment: It gives people the necessary tools to take control of their health and well-being.
- Social integration at all levels: It encourages the active participation of people in society, in all areas.
- Access to health professionals.
Some features.
- Diversity of functions, such as peer-to-peer chat, discussion forums, public walls, support groups and communities, virtual and in-person events, information resources in all formats and effective communication tools.
- Universal accessibility with the most advanced assistive technologies.
The official launch, just last July 2024, is generating a significant impact on the lives of thousands of people.
The future.
There are ambitious plans for the future of the social network, such as its international expansion (bringing the platform to all other Latin American countries and far beyond), developing new features (continuing to innovate and develop high-tech tools to improve the user experience), strengthening the community (fostering active user participation), and creating alliances with organizations and companies to boost the impact.
